Retina Care in Denver

Eye icon

The retina is one of the most important structures of our visual system. This light-sensitive tissue lining the inner surface of the back of the eye serves a similar function to the film in a camera.

Eye with a drop icon

The optics of the eye create an image of the visual world on the retina. Light striking the retina initiates a cascade of chemical and electrical events that trigger nerve impulses. The photoreceptor cells, the rods, and cones are involved in this complex process.

The retinal impulses are then carried through the optic nerve to the brain. The retina is essential to the human body’s ability to see things clearly. Retina problems might cause blurry vision, loss of color, flashes of light or floaters, or distorted vision.

Various factors, such as aging, eye injuries, genetics, and diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, can cause retina issues. Our eye doctors can diagnose retina issues and provide the most effective treatment through a comprehensive eye exam.
